# Overview

> One app for all your Tack Studio tools.

The Tack Studio app is a free desktop app for Mac and Windows, and the home of everything Tack Studio: it’s where you buy, activate, install, and update all of our After Effects tools.

Download it from [tackstudio.co](https://tackstudio.co/tools/app), install it, and sign in with the email address you purchased with. No password: we email you a verification code instead.

## Refreshing

The refresh button at the top of the app reloads your tools, licenses, and updates. If something isn’t showing yet, like a purchase you’ve just made, give it a click.

## Your name and avatar

Click your avatar at the top of the app to edit it, and press **Enter** to save. Your avatar shows your initials, taken from that name.

If your email address has a profile image on a service like [Gravatar](https://gravatar.com), a switch appears while editing: flick it to use the image instead of your initials.
