Paragraph Plus checks your license against the Tack Studio app before it shows its controls. You’ll see one of two messages:
  • “Open the Tack Studio app”: Paragraph Plus can’t reach the Tack Studio app on your computer. Make sure it’s installed and running, then click Refresh in the panel. If you don’t have it yet, click Download the app.
  • “Activate using the Tack Studio app”: the Tack Studio app is running, but no license is active. Either activate Paragraph Plus in the app, or click Purchase to buy it, then click Refresh once complete.
See Installing tools for the full activation flow.
This means Paragraph Plus doesn’t see any box text in your current selection. Check that:
  • You have a layer selected in the active composition.
  • The selected layer is box text (paragraph text with a bounding box), not point text. Point text isn’t supported. See Using the panel.
Auto-fit only works when vertical alignment is set to top. Click the top alignment button first, then choose an auto-fit method. See Auto-fit to height.
Height is locked automatically while auto-fit is turned on, since After Effects is calculating it for you. Turn auto-fit off to regain manual control of height.
This dropdown is only editable when the first baseline **slider value **is 0. Set the value back to 0 in First baseline alignment to choose a different measurement.
You have multiple layers selected whose values for that control don’t match (a “mixed” state). This is expected. Type or drag a new value to apply it to all selected layers at once. See Using the panel.
Paragraph Plus requires After Effects 24.6 or later. Check your After Effects version (Help > About After Effects) and update if needed, then check Window > Extensions > Paragraph Plus again. If it’s still missing, reinstall via the Tack Studio app.
